Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi; a sunny day on the scooter!

One of the reasons we came to Italy is because of Mika's love for Sorrento. On April 6 we rented a scooter and drove along the Amalfi Coast.

At 7:00 am we drove from San Maria Capue Vetere to a paid camper place in Pompeii. Fortunately, the owner was already there and we received a friendly welcome. We were able to park the camper comfortably and there were still a number of campers there. The camper spot is very nice; there is WiFi, there are many picnic tables, there is electricity, showers and toilets. Our bike ride to the center started around 8:15 AM, where we could pick up the scooter at 9:00 AM. At Amalfi Moto Rent we were again welcomed with a smile and a delicious coffee (here it is an espresso). Francesco explained to us how the scooter worked so we could leave at our leisure.

Sorrento

At 9:30 am we were already on the scooter and drove to Sorrento first. Because it was still so early, it was still quite chilly on the scooter. But the view made it completely worth it. We had to drive for about an hour with the clear blue sea on our right and large rocks with small villages on our left. Because Francesco had explained to us how parking with a scooter works in the center, we were parked in no time and walked towards the center. It was already nice and busy there and everyone was sitting on the terrace. There are many nice shops in Sorrento with many products with lemons on them. So great fun!

In Sorrento we also sat on the terrace in the sun and enjoyed a Nutella croissant with a coffee. Then we continued our journey to Positano.

Positano

It was also a long drive to Positano, but that really wasn't a problem. Once we arrived in Positano, a friendly police officer helped us find the center. However, in Positano there is not really a center for us. And you get a better impression when you drive through it. We saw all the beautiful parts of the village and were able to take the most beautiful photos. Many people walk through Positano, but we do not recommend that. That is quite a walk and of course you walk uphill and downhill.

Amalfi

We didn't stay long in Positano and wanted to go to Amalfi. Amalfi is a very pleasant village with many nice shops! We had to park in a garage here, but Francesco had already warned us about that. That went well and we walked straight to the center. Walked the streets here and especially enjoyed the sun. Here we bought a new tea towel and shopping bag. Of course with lemons on top.

Around 5:00 PM we drove back to Pompeii, to the scooter rental. We agreed again at 6:30 PM to return the scooter. That went great too and we got a nice coffee. Then we cycled back to the camper where we quickly fell asleep after this long day.
