Departure date

March 3, we left Zwiggelte around 11:00. Our journey has officially begun!

On the road

We liked the driving very much. We also experienced mountains/hills, which also went very well. Every time we drove past a sign indicating the gradient, I did start to sweat a little. We had to downshift a few times and drive up at 60 mph, but we made it!

Camper culture

We haven't run into many other RVers yet, but we found out that it is customary to greet each other when you cross on the road.

Combres-sous-les-Côtes, France

Sunday we drove a lot and got stranded in Combres-sous-les-Côtes, France (near Verdun). We arrived in the dark, which was quite exciting because we drove past many World War II monuments. In the morning it was a lot less scary and we could see how beautiful the surroundings were.

Hirtzbach, France

We arrived today around 3 p.m. in Hirtzbach, France at a beautiful RV site. There is one other camper van there. We walked around the village in the afternoon, which was short-lived. We were looking for a supermarket, but there is none here. That's how small the village is! Nice to see that the locals are already preparing for Easter. They were decorating the street.
