Climbing steep mountains and driving towards the sun
We drove from Borso del Grappa towards Florene, where our camper had to really climb the mountains for the first time. That was quite an exciting trip!

Barberino di Mugello, Italy
After Borso del Grappa, we drove to a beautiful parking lot on a lake. We arrived there in the afternoon with a bit of gray weather, so we stayed in the camper with candles lit. Fortunately there were two other campers there. The next day the sun suddenly came through in the afternoon and we saw what a beautiful place it was. We had a wonderful walk, as did many Italians who like to visit the place on Saturdays. Definitely recommended!

Lizzano in Belvedere, Italy
This was quite a spirited trip. Mika missed the mountains anyway, so I went looking for a location in the mountains. Close to our lakeside location was a great spot in a large parking lot, about a 2-hour drive. But afterwards it took us about 4 hours. When we started the drive, we drove maybe 15 minutes on the highway, but soon we had to go up the mountains. The uphill went fine, but the downhill was quite tough on the brakes of the motorhome. We smelled the brakes in the cabin so we pulled over as quickly as we could. We stood there for about an hour to let the brakes cool down, and then continued driving very slowly. Finally we reached our location and had a nice night.

Fabro, Italy
Yesterday we traveled south. We were in a spacious parking lot in a small village where we also emptied and refilled our water. Our routine is getting used more and more and we are getting more comfortable with our camper. By this I mean doing the "tedious" chores; emptying toilet, emptying water, filling water, filling gas, etc. We both know those chores are part of it and just have to be done, but it's not necessarily fun.
Semoneta, Italy
Today we drove to Norma, which is located on top of a mountain. We parked in a spacious parking lot overlooking the valley. The sun is shining lovely here and we put our chairs outside. Tomorrow we will explore the village and find out if Mika can paraglide here.
